a common space & database for harmonic overtones
About me: Hi, I am a long time singer/composer from Tromsoe, Norway.I have been releasing albums since the 80´s, mostly pop music. I´ve been touring most continents and now I am an artistic phd student at the University in Tromsoe, north of Norway. My main thesis is "the modern tribal voice" where I investigate a.o. on the sami joik, overtone - and throat singing.
About me: I am interested in the essence of sound since an age of 11, when i started to improvise with my violine, feeling the fabulous effects of free sound in my energy body. Through my own deep experiences with sound in meditations i found the core of myself in the infinite space. So i like to practise and teach nada yoga, the yoga of sound. I love to share my passion for vocal music with friends and i like to play violin as well to let my soul sing. But the best way for me to feel my soul through music ist to sing harmonics...It´s for me like man and soul in one body are in a voice dialogue and inspire one each other.
It is a big pleasure for me to teach overtone singing in groups and in individual sessions. As overtone singer and musician I love singing overtones and play my e-violine
About me: Born in 1971 in Hannover - Germany, Pratyan explored just about every instrument he could get his hands on. The former active Rock-Singer,songwriter and musican enriched his abilities when he studied the sound massage method of Peter Hess and was inspired by the magic of the singing bowls. He is working as a trainer/coach and musican in his own studio. Over the years, Pratyan has continued learn and master a vast array of instruments, including the Waterdrums, Monochord, Shrutibox, Gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, Overtone singing, Didgeridoo und Hang. In 2008 he founded a new method, a crossover form Sound-Healing, Acupressure tapping and Heart Coherence Training the "Progressive Klangrelaxation nach Pratyan®". In 2009 he opens the ConferenceCenter-Springe were he gives Seminars and gives other Therapists a Room to present there technics.
About me: I am a professional singer & vocal coach. After a formal classical training I did a very broad scope of work as a singer and singer/actor: opera, oratorio, musical, renaissance, jazz, choral work in large & small choirs & ensembles, song recitals with piano & street singing with my accordeon.
At the moment I am writing songs for a short musical.
My interest and practice of overtone singing has always been present since the mid 80s. Recently I have been getting more & more into the healing an meditative workings of the voice, music and tone. I hope to start a (mainly) vocal group based on this premise, to perform and possibly record.
About me: I was raised artistically with The Silo Theatre of Amsterdam in the 1990s, make improvised music with Oorbeek, compose and improvise with my own Parafonia crew, and have some solo musical and non-musical alter ego's.
I do a PhD in the arts at Leiden University / docARTES in Ghent, entitled "Overtone Singing and the thresholds of audibility." You'll find more info on http://www.fusica.nl
Currently, I love philosophy/phenomenology.
And my my kids, who are half Taiwanese.
About me: I have been making music with Michael Ormiston since 2000. We have collaborated on many projects together and have recorded many CDs which can been seen on our website www.soundtransformations.co.uk
I have specialised in Khoomii, Khargyraa throat singing and also work with groups to perform more choral pieces and improvisations using Overtone Singing and other vocal techniques
We run Mongolian Khoomii singing workshops all over the world and teach Tibetan Bowls and Symphonic Gongs as part of working with sound for healing.
I run Bija Mantra workshops where I teach the sanskrit syllable chanting as a way of connecting to the Chakras. I am also a painter of Sacred Mandalas which I have been painting since I was a child and can be used with sound as a way of focussing energy and intention.
For 15 years I have been working as a Ayurvedic masseur and have visited South India many times to work with some great healers and therapists.
About me: We are an ambitious chamber choir that dedicates itself with great curiosity to the challenges of demanding choral literature. Together with our conductor Jurgita Česonytė, we are on the road between Renaissance and Modernism, enthusiastic about the diversity between classical a cappella works and overtone singing. Concert tours abroad with a focus on Eastern Europe enable us to engage in intercultural exchange on an artistic and personal level. This is how we want to build European bridges and open ears and eyes.
About me: I'm just about leaving school, hopefully to study music, and I'm very open towards new sounds. This whole issue of overtones made me very curious and I'm very happy to find people that share my enthusiasm!
"Summer 78" is a recording of a project choir with about 15 young people that I had the chance to teach the basics of overtone singing in a few school lessons and do a little concert. I'm quite pleased with the result and had a lot of fun while conducting!
