a common space & database for harmonic overtones
ENGLISH/ DANSK:
The harmonic series is displayed in a visual structure, 'The Octave Spiral', which mirrors the musical content directly. The spiral clarifies the experience of the octave as a return to an already heard quality on a new level.
Mathematically the octave is constituted by the proportion 1: 2 (one to two) in frequency and wavelength.
In the video, the fundamental (first partial) is chosen to be A2 = 110 Hz.
The following frequencies are multiples of this value:
2x110 Hz, Hz 3x110, 4x110 Hz, ...
INTERVALS:
First octave:
1: 2, octave
Second octave:
2: 3, perfect fifth; 3: 4, perfect fourth
Third octave:
4: 5, major third; 5: 6, minor third; 6: 7, septimal third; 7: 8, septimal wholetone
Fourth Octave:
8: 9, wholetone; (9: 10: 11: 12: 13: 14: 15 - intervals between wholetone and semitone) 15:16, semitone
DANSK:
2x110 Hz, 3x110 Hz, 4x110 Hz, …
INTERVALLER:
Første oktav:
1:2, oktav
Anden oktav:
2:3, ren kvint; 3:4 ren kvart
Tredje oktav:
4:5, stor terts; 5:6, lille terts; 6:7, septimal terts; 7:8, septimal heltone
Fjerde oktav:
8:9, heltone; (9:10:11:12:13:14:15 - intervaller mellem heltone og halvtone ) 15:16, halvtone
