In 1996 the Iranian harpist Asita Hamidi founded her band 'Bazaar' in Switzerland; at the same time, Björn Meyer's trio 'Bazar Blå' was formed in Sweden. When the two musicians first met during a concert, the names of their respective bands proved to be just one of many parallels. However, of much greater importance was the closeness of their musical ideas – and this would lead to their creating 'Bazaarpool', an artists' network that for over five years has represented outstanding world music projects. Asita Hamidi's Bazaar – a quartet with Scandinavian and Oriental roots that emerged from Bazaarpool – tears down harmonic and melodic borders with its unconventional instrumental lineup (electronic harp, dændji, voice, human sound effects, bass, drums, and percussion) to create an extraordinary listening experience.

Die persische Harfenistin Asita Hamidi gründete 1996 ihre Band Bazaar in der Schweiz; zur gleichen Zeit entstand in Schweden Björn Meyers Trio Bazar Blå. Als die beiden sich bei einem Konzert kennenlernten, erwies sich der Name nur als eine der Parallelen. Viel wichtiger war die Verwandtschaft der musikalischen Ideen, und so schufen sie das Künstlernetzwerk Bazaarpool, das seit fünf Jahren für herausragende Weltmusikprojekte steht. Asita Hamidis Bazaar – eine Quartett-Formation des Bazaarpool mit skandinavischen und orientalischen Wurzeln – sprengt mit seiner eigenwilligen Besetzung (elektronische Harfe, Dændji, Stimme, Human Sound Effects, Bass, Drums, Perkussion) harmonische und melodische Grenzen und sorgt dabei für außergewöhnliche Hörerlebnisse.
