  • Hi Steve,
the Gennadi Tumat project is still pending. I'm waiting for some materials from Mark, but he's busy and I'm busy, so there's not much progress. I guess eventually there'll be a DVD, but I don't know when.
    Best, Bernard
  • Hi Steve,

Thanks for the welcome. I don't know Jerry--at least not yet! Is he on here?

i've been playing footprints in it's ususal speed range many years ago. and yes, first it means to touch an alien culture. at least i became very familiary with this piece. but having this slowness offers a varied perception not only of the melody and chords itself. to me, it tells me something about how music works in general, in terms of colours or qualities and it's contrast.
it's surprising and very nice to see, how different our view on music can be. funny, for you it sounds classic, i would say it's still jazz. and some classical musicians in the neighbourhood call it world music.
anyhow, let's see what will grow here out of those many seeds.

    hi steve,
thanks again for your friendly words. interesting, that it sounds classical to you.
didn't expect it. for me it's just slow. always good to get feedback.
    best, jan
