Nel film "Incontri con uomini straordinari"(Meetings with remarkable men) del 1979, ideato e diretto da Peter Brook e tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di George Ivanovič Gurdjieff, si parla di un suono di una speciale qualità, in grado di far vibrare le pietre della valle. Si tratta del Canto Armonico, la straordinaria tecnica vocale - con cui si producono contemporaneamente più frequenze (armonici) - conosciuta e utilizzata da antiche culture per lo sviluppo spirituale.
In questa breve sequenza ho riprodotto il movimento melodico inserito nel film (originariamente eseguito da David Hykes), in cui sono racchiuse due delle fondamentali tecniche: quella cosiddetta con "apertura della glottide" e quella "ad una cavità". Sullo sfondo le immagini del cortometraggio di Brook.

In the 1979 movie "Meetings with Remarkable Men", conceived and directed by Peter Brook and based on the novel of George Ivanovich Gurdjieff, it is called a sound of a special quality, able to vibrate stones of the valley. This is Harmonic Chant (overtone singing), the extraordinary vocal technique -- by which are produced simultaneously more frequencies (harmonics) - known and used by ancient cultures for spiritual development.
In this short sequence I reproduced a melodic movement included in the film (originally performed by David Hykes), in which are enclosed two of the fundamental techniques: the so-called "opening of the glottis" and that "one cavity." In the background images of Brook's short film.
