Rules to add videos to the video portal Overtone Music Network


Only upload videos you create or which contains your music performances.

In order to upload or add Videos you must own all the rights to your videos (song and photo material - for example you can't use music which are not your own and which is not legalized to use) and follow the rules set forth in our Community Guidelines. If you do not follow these simple rules, we reserve the right to delete your account without warning.

  • Only upload videos you create:
  • You may only upload videos your have created yourself or participated closely in the creation of.
  • Music in your videos should be your own or you have the permission by the musician to use this music. Please mark this permission in your video description.
  • Directors, DPs, editors, musicians, graphic effects artists, and actors may all upload work that they have contributed significantly to the creation of.


No Commercial use

You may not upload commercials, infomercials, or demos that actively sell or promote a product or service.
  • Exceptions: Independent production companies, authors, musicians, non profits, churches artists, and actors may show or promote the work they have created, anyone else cannot.

  • Businesses may not use the platform of Overtone Music Network to externalize their hosting costs.
  • No videos containing ads before or after the video unless given explicit permission from a staff member. Videos with any advertisements in them, including links to commercial sites, regardless of content, will be removed.
  • No MLM, get rich quick, cash gifting, work from home business, or any other dubious money making ventures are not allowed.
  • No product promotions or sales videos, such as real estate walkthroughs.
  • We reserve the right to allow specific commercial content for coordinated sponsored advertising campaigns on Overtone Music Network.


Content policy
Of course you have to accept that we do not accept gameplay videos, "fan vids", sexually explicit videos, movies, TV, trailers, or anything else you found on the web that you did not create yourself. That's means:

o No sexually illicit material or porn.
o No videos that incite hatred, include hate speech, or depict extreme violence.
o No TV, movies, trailers or other videos you find on the web. You may post videos of yourself on TV, as long as you have the rights to do so and the video is limited to your involvement in the program only.
o No videos that are just compilations of scenes from TV or movies.
o No captures of video games or gameplay, regardless if it is edited or not.
o Users uploading popular or professional content that they have created should add their role and involvement in the video description and on their profile to avoid accidental deletion.
