Danibal is one of the very few Jew’s harp players in the Netherlands. He fell in love with this tiny ancient instrument in 1999 together with his interest in throat singing. As the vocalist of Dial Prisko (Utrecht NL) the Jew’s harp also claimed a place in their melancholic rock songs.
Danibal tries to make plunky pop music, involving quirky melodies and dentist impressions. He loves to improvise with other musicians such as sound artist and loop maniac Jan Schellink (with the duo Heug) and with the human beatboxer Ramon Kool (the duo Plunk)
As a band we are:
Danibal: solo
Plunk: Ramon Kool & Danibal
Heug: Jan Schellink & Danibal
Dial Prisko: Gerben Schmidt, Kai Bergin & Danibal
Instruments:
jew's harps, vocals & lots of musical devices for soundeffects.
Influences:
stimmhorn, yat-kha, anton bruhin, captain beefheart
My days with the ''Globe Glotters'', a multi style throat-singing group are over !
Indeed, there was death metal singing mixed with throat-singing because the lead singer was a death metal artist.
You can join him on Facebook. His name is Sebastien Croteaau
Cheers,
